Grooming

At Lifetime Pet Wellness we have adevoted and caring team that will be happy to assist you or your pet with anything they can. We want every client to understand how important grooming is for the wellness of the pet, and how we operate here at LPWC.

Grooming your pet is just as essential to happiness and health as good exercise and eating right. Our furry friend’s can’t brush their own coats or cut their own nails, so it’s up to us to lend them a hand. Long-haired dogs may require weekly or daily brushing, so be sure to have a comb and slicker brush ready! Keeping their hair brushed will reduce matting, which could lead to skin issues. Proper maintenance keeps pets insulated in the cold, and allows for ventilation during the heat.

Let’s not forget the short-haired breeds; grooming is equally important for dogs of all coat lengths. Be sure to have a curry brush handy, but be careful not to over brush your dog. Over-brushing can cause skin irritation and can create flaky, dry skin.

If you are the owner of a puppy, be sure to introduce them to bathing and grooming as early as 2 months of age. Getting your puppy acclimated to the idea of grooming will make it far more enjoyable as they mature. We want to show them that bathing, brushing, and playing with their feet and ears regularly can be fun! Don’t hesitate to reward your puppy for doing well. Treats and praise are encouraged, we want to make the grooming experience as fun as we can! Remember, grooming is an important part of pet ownership, and it not only keeps your pet beautiful, but it helps build a strong relationship between you and your pet, while keeping them happy and healthy!
